What is hay fever?
Hay fever (rhinitis) is an allergic reaction to the airways caused by inhaling pollen that circulates in the air. This pollen can come from different trees, grasses or (un) herbs.
The complaints that arise with hay fever are comparable to colds. Some complaints are:
- Sneezing
- Runny nose
- Stuffy nose
- More symptoms
You will notice that the complaints about hay fever last longer, while colds usually disappear after a few days.
Hay fever often coincides with the birch bloom season or with spring and summer, depending on the type of hay fever.
